A huge shift in the last few years
Women have traditionally been underrepresented in the tech industry, but this is beginning to change. According to a recent report by the National Center for Women & Information Technology, women now make up nearly half of all computer and information science graduates. This is a huge shift from just a few years ago when women made up only about 25 percent of graduates.
“Woman in Tech is crucial, because already there are less women in tech. Now the world is changing and we have more women and it should be even more.” Nishtha Wadhawan – Senior Security Engineer @ Payconiq
Female representation in tech
This increase in female representation in tech has been driven by several factors. For one, there has been an increased focus on encouraging young girls to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. This has led to more girls taking an interest in tech-related topics and enrolling in tech-related courses. Additionally, there has been an increased focus on creating a more inclusive environment for women in tech. Companies are now actively recruiting female talent and creating initiatives to support them.
Driving innovation
The result of these efforts is that more women are now entering the tech field and playing an important role in driving innovation. Women are now taking on leadership positions at tech firms and playing an important role in shaping the future of technology. Additionally, more women are starting their own tech companies and creating products that are revolutionizing industries.
“I wanted to pursue a career in the fintech industry, as it’s such a fast-pace environment and there’s so much to learn. It really helps to have a diverse team. It fosters dialogue and constructive debate between people, and it helps the team really build the best solution.” Emilie Fourel – Product Owner @ Payconiq
Women at Payconiq
Overall, the changing role of women in tech is having a positive impact on the industry as a whole. That is also what we see at Payconiq. As more women enter the field, they bring with them new perspectives and ideas that can help drive our innovation and create new opportunities for the company and our services. As this trend continues, we look forward to seeing even more progress in the future as women continue to make their mark on the tech world.
“When you work for a company such as Payconiq, they respect you and value you for the work that you do, rather than who you are as a person. Both parties are going to benefit from it.” Michela Bonvissuto – Risk Management Associate @ Payconiq
